“Business Analysis Sucks” was the title of a post I wrote in another forum a little while ago. It was partly a cheeky attention-getting headline (which seemed to work), partly intentionally wanting to stir up some passion in business analysis professionals (that definitely worked), and partly meant as a serious reflection on what I see as the continued poorly supported state of the business analysis profession, including tools, status and recognition within the digital innovation and software implementation process.
I’ve been in the digital innovation space for over 20 years, most of that as a business analyst / project manager. I’ve had some wonderful opportunities to work with some great teams and exciting technology. Now it’s time for me to focus on some giveback and innovation, to make the world a better place for the next generation of business analysts, and the businesses and teams they serve.
So, buckle in and get ready for my series on the what, when, where, why and how of business analysis.
If you have any questions or want to chat all things business analysis, leave me a message in the comments. Let me know what topics you want to see addressed, and if you’d like to see some more interactive features like videos, webinars and the like.
Until next time – Thanks for doing what you do!
